Beginnings

As I look at my painting (today), thinking of a title, I would have to say the image of this little moon hanging in balance amidst the strong structural spheres seems to represent a beginning of some kind. As an alternative title, "Prime Focus" would have suggested something more in line with telescopic observation. But this to me represents something deeper; something farther away than the human eye can see; something very primitive, beautiful and inspiring. All things "begin" from some event or powerful coming together of forces. It is easy for us to immediately think of the moon as something with which we are familiar, yet I am not intending this in my painting. Rather, I am suggesting it be symbolic for all that "begins" in the universe in whatever way it needs to "begin." We could carry this "image" one step further and translate it to our own thinking. For, isn't it true that great ideas are born out of simple, pure thought? It is only when ideas come together (in the "human universe") that powerful dreams are realized. In nature, these powerful beginnings are more abstract when it comes to a full understanding of their genesis
