Broken Tears

Earlier today I drove to Blick's Art Supplies to see about buying a technical pen set. I'd done a little research and decided on getting the 7-pen Koh-I-Noor set. I was hoping to use it for today's mandala -- which I've titled 'Broken Tears' (Artist's note: The title's mood, which could be considered painfully difficult or even sad, is actually expressing quite the opposite -- Joy and / or sudden release -- much like what one might experience when "breaking" into tears over a fine piece of music). I did not use my new Koh-I-Noor pen set today however. I will need to return it since one of the pens had a problem preventing me from filling the ink reservoir. Today's mandala-like design was drawn using my Micron .35 mm and .50 mm pens -- and a fine-point Sharpie. The width and height of this piece is 16.5 x 16.5 inches. It took about 3 1/2 hours to draw.
