Conflicting Messages The three crescent moons partially hidden by the dominant waves in this scene are symbols of solidity and wholeness. They cast a clear and perfect light reflecting literally the full and perfect light of another related and powerful source. When considered alone (without disturbance and conflict), they collectively suggest harmony and balance with order and a similar "path." Yet, in this scene, they are noticeably overshadowed by some "outside" source. The colorful waves have an almost electronic quality about them. I include them here to suggest more than mere interference and to also convey a message of worldly confusion, informational overload and imbalance in an otherwise peaceful state of human existence.
