Wind, like starlight in the daytime, is an invisible thing. We cannot see air, but we detect its effect as it blows over the mountain tops both in the day and at night. I like to think we could see it -- and in color as well. This night scene incorporated such a possibility. Additionally, its mood is intended to be calming rather than agitating or forceful. Possibly you can remember such a wind -- say on some 70 degree summer night. It would be about 10 miles per hour and "just enough" to make the leaves rustle under the stars. This was the mood I was looking for -- a calming one, at night. |
