Turning Point

For me, "Turning Point" symbolically represents a very simple event -- a moment of decision -- a change in direction if you will. Apart from the details of how, where, why, or under what circumstance such a change is to occur, its essence lies in the moment itself -- in this case, the moment of change. I like to think we are connected to the universe in a very intimate way, yet like many mysteries, it is difficult for us to fathom the power and grace of such intimacy to what we see and do here in the world. Yet, within our limitations, we DO make decisions, however unclear their outcomes may be to us in the present moment. And although we cannot know our full destiny, we can cherish the fact that we can (if we so choose) fully embrace the moments we choose things in life. "Turning point" technically represents what one might say is a "full turn-around" -- a dramatic shift -- or a complete reversal. I like to think of the assembly of forms as representations of man -- a being who, like God, creates things -- often complex when viewed against the simple backdrop of nature's landscape. Possibly you can see how the transformation occurs from left to right. The point of most interest to me is the center point -- the point where "the moment" is embraced. Interestingly, it is often at times of "perfect" decision making that the details themselves disappear. I like to think this "disappearing" is a gift from God which enables us to see the newer details later on. Sometimes, the best thoughts are those that involve none. To reach this clear and full capacity for knowledge, we must come to a turning point. And when we do, we begin to see the moment for what it eternally is.
