Two Clear Paths

Sometimes, either before or after a thunderstorm, -- or even on bright blue-sky summer days where thick, billowing cumulus clouds fill the sky, we can see openings for sunlight to travel downward to the land. I have never forgotten the expression "Ladders to Heaven" to describe such a sight. In this scene, two such ladders, -- or paths, shine way up into the night. To me they represent an enormous quest with great promise and life experiences. The pattern behind which they shine represents the rhythm of life itself with all its normal -- often unclear -- paths to follow. When I look at these two clear paths, I like to think of them as beacons. To think we can travel on them to wherever they lead would be very exciting indeed.
