Visiting at the Lake
Many of us have been lucky enough to see comets in our lifetime. Not
being that common an event, we are in awe of them. We wonder of what
they are made. We wonder where they are going, where they have been,
how long they have been "around." We are interested in their tail
and why it points so perfectly away from our sun as it makes its
fly-by. This is a simple picture of such an event. And because
comets enter our solar system -- then go away, it is simply a
"visit."
We can ask if there are other places in the Universe where such
visits occur. It is highly likely this is the case. After all, who
are we to think we have the only system of planets with a central
sun which "accommodates" such visitors from afar? Surely we are not
alone. And this visit highlights such possibilities elsewhere.
