Had a great time at Lake Waramaug. Shitty time of approx 6:38. My Garmin battery
ran out at mile 29 and I couldn't find the time keeper for my finish time.
Nice to see everyone though. Today I did a slow 5 miles with a 13:23 pace.

tlz - Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10:40:27 (GMT) (subtract 4 for local time)

OMG Mike, you ran 5 miles today! Joe and I are walking around like crippled
old folks. LOL I wouldn't even be able to run a mile today.

I asked for my time right after the race and the time keeper said 5:22.
I was so annoyed and told him that was 20+ min. off - in the wrong direction!
He claimed that once he got the data from the timing mats, etc., my correct
time would be reflected. I've never had that happen in the previous 6 years.
In fact, they usually print out the results and have them on a board to
view. Mike Melton, who is always there to do the timing, sent someone else
this year. I made sure to tell Rob, one of the race directors, that it wasn't
correct and I emailed Rob and Mike Melton at MCM timing yesterday with my
Garmin data. I also didn't like that Rob started the race 3 min. early with
no warning. I tried to make the best of it and thought maybe it helped me
to run the out and back a little faster than I normally would have. But
I had no idea who was ahead of me. Didn't matter I suppose as the 3 or 4
women ahead of me blew me away with their times.

Anyway, your endurance and recovery is super impressive. I could use some
of that for the 48 hour!

Congratulations Tracy. Outstanding considering you hadn't trained much. I
did 8 miles this morning in Hyannis MA at a 11:57 pace. Tough at the start
but loosened up as I went along. BTW...yesterday I didn't intend to do 5
miles but there is a story....I wanted 2 miles to keep my streak alive. After
the first mile I felt good and decided to make it 3. At 1.5 miles mother
nature made my bowels start to rumble. I could tell time was of the essence!!
I was closer to the park port-a-potty than home so continue to it. That was
2.5 miles from home so shazzam...I had 5 miles and a safe visit to the port-a-potty!!

Sorry to hear you're going through a rough spot, Chip. Lately, I've tried
to reframe the difficult times as serving a purpose to make us more appreciative
of the conflict-free, happier times. And I've been more forgiving of myself
when I don't feel like running. Sometimes you need the mental break and doing
nothing just feels good. Hang in there.

Looking forward to more sun.

Thanks Tracy for asking about Lee's dress. I kinda wondered what was

Quick race report. I had a blast this year at 3 Days, despite the ridiculous
heat on Fri. Thursday was even worse for the first day of Joe, Sarah, and
Ian's race. Results...

90 miles for me in the 48 hour race - way under what I wanted to do (127)
but I really had such a good time and figured that's actually a pretty damn
good effort, considering my training and the weather.

For the 72 hour race:
Joe - 129 miles
Sarah - 81 miles
Ian - 86 miles

Miscellaneous tidbits:
Sarah and I both had blisters. Ian and Joe - nothing! So unfair!

1st year of the 6 day race. My 60 year old lawyer friend from Cheshire,
Fred, ran 365 miles over 6 days.

Joe and I got our asses kicked by seniors!
In the 72 hour race, there was a 78 year old male who ran 132 miles!
In the 48 hour race, there was a 77 year old female who ran 105 miles!
I think they are both world records for their age group. Holy freakin' crap!

Well, I went from 95 miles last week to 2 this week. LOL I hurt my ankle
during the first night of my 48 hour race. The top of it - where the crease
is when you stand, walk, or run. It flared up on and off in varying amounts
of intensity during the remainder of the race and has been hurting all week.
So I opted to give it a really good rest. Walked 2 miles around the block
