I remember that race Lee. My shirt will provide the year ... 2007 maybe?
Looks like you covered most of the course and had a good times with everyone!
It was a much better week this week. As mentioned below, my physical therapist said I had made
good progress Tuesday and could experiment with some short, easy 1/4 to 1/2 mile runs. I was
super glad about that and decided I would begin that tomorrow - 8/1 at the Harvard track. Also
got good news from the eye doctor (on the glaucoma issue) although there seems to be some
remaining issue with irritation from the cataract surgery. All in all, I'm glad to not have take
eye meds anymore. Experimented with a high(er) mileage bike week [85+] this week, but will back
off a bit next week while beginning the running buildup. Not really sure how the running will go
pain wise, it's been a pretty steady P = 1 for the whole week so far. My therapist thinks I am
likely out of the woods enough to NOT have surgery -- provided I keep up with the pre-run warmups
(biking) and the post run PT exercises. On Friday I began a new set of exercises to work
different groups -- and my balance while standing on the right leg -- which isn't great. Looking
forward to another astrophotography gallery exhibit and dinner out tonight with 4-5 Concord
walking friends at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA tonight.

(1) Was told to go back one level and alternate with it and one even earlier as I experiment
with road running. Was told to try 15 miles for a TWM for a couple of weeks without the rests
when I feel more energy return. Will try something like this Tuesday
(2) Garmin Map Really wanted to give road running a try today! Went well nonstop with no pain issues for 3 miles.
Lunch with my neighbor Tom at noon. Biked in a bit of a rain late. Did exercises late afternoon.

4 miles to Groton Shirly Road and back. Cloudy. 43 degrees. Was
going to take a rest day today but 6+ inches of snow is forecasted for
tomorrow and I want to run long on Sunday. Tomorrow I will rest.
Yesterday I officially became a member of the Greater Lowell Runners.
Glenn Stewart, the head of the glrr, encouraged me to join after the
2/26 3 miler in Haverhill.

Congratulations to Lani, Lee and Brent on your races! That hill looks
very long!!
5 mile Group Run with the Greater Lowell Road Runners at 8:00 am. We
all signed in at "The Coop" and listed our expected paces for one of
several possible distances. I warmed up before meeting them (there)
and estimated my pace to be 10:15 / mile. I hooked up with Tony E.
(58) who said 9:30 sounded good. We were off and running before I had
a chance to think about THAT. Amazingly, I was able to stay with him.
We carried on a conversation the whole way back. Good run. There were
about 18 of us today. Several sub-groups formed for other routes and
distances. Annette Casco posted thispic on FB.

Ran the Frank Nealon Boston Tune-Up 15k today. Time was 1:38:59
A steady rain actually stopped just before the 10:00 am start. I was a
bit blown away by the competition as this was a USATF-NE certified
race. I placed 11th out of 16 in my AG. My pace was 9:33 / mile. The
rain picked up again pretty steadily at about mile 8 for me. Many of
us in the GLRR met at Rushford & Sons Brewhouse on Grove St, after the
awards.
A fellow non glrr took with pic of us with my phone. Posted it on the
GLRR Facebook site today.
