11 runners and 2 quilters (Kim and Linda) showed up for the Joe Vailonis
HTC Winter Series run this morning. 3 of us (Kevin Markowski, Bill
Varhue and Bob Tumiski) headed out into the meadow and did the out 4 and
back 4 on the snow covered route and the other 8 (Tracy Vroeginday, Mike
Taricani, Lee Bradley, Claudia, Todd Brown, Dave Condit, Barbara Kream
and one other whose name escapes me) chose to do 4.8 on the road.
Mr. Condit crushed the coarse, followed by RD Todd Brown, then the guy
whose name I can't remember. Tracy was 4th, overtaking Lee in the final
seconds. Lee's time was about 41:44. One of his goals for '13 is to not
look back so he did not know where she was. She was sure her heart was
pounding so hard it was audible but I never heard a thing.
Todd, Tray and Lee added 3.2 to make it an even 8.
Great way to start the year. Thanks Todd and Kim for setting the course,
providing the food and drinks.
Now it's time to set your goals, pick some interesting local courses for
our Saturday long runs when Brickyard is under snow cover and discipline
ourselves for the challenges ahead.
